FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A. Some vehicles go right to the front of the waiting line. 10. Q. Is the Chappy Ferry affiliated with the Falmouth Ferry?Of course, emergency vehicles such as Police cars, Ambulances, Fire Trucks and Fire Personnel need to go across immediately. Traditionally, the U.S. Mail delivery, the School Bus and the Visiting Nurses have cut the line. Recently, large vehicles which cause congestion and exhaust issues on Simpson's Lane and Daggett Street have been allowed to cut the line on the Edgartown side only. This is done out of concern for homes along those streets. These vehicles are not allowed to cut the line when returning from Chappaquiddick since there is sufficient space in the waiting line adjacent to Chappaquiddick Road. According to an agreement with home owners on Chappaquiddick, both UPS and Fed-Ex delivery vans are allowed to cut the line in both directions. The Chappy Ferry is not affiliated with the Falmouth Ferry. The Pied Piper makes daily scheduled runs between Memorial Wharf and Falmouth during the Spring, Summer and Fall. Schedules are available on the wharf. The Chappy Ferry can not be held responsible for asking the Pied Piper to wait for you. Plan ahead and leave plenty of time. |
